Today the first reeds were planted. This is the start of the reed growing plan. As the reeds grow the roots will deepen into the gravel bed and as the water flows past the roots the roots are exposed to the incoming water.

The lake has been slowly filling after the construction phase of the project. The base of the reed bed is now at the correct level as the lake has filled. The red bed is base on a gravel box 6m by 4m in size. The gravel is netted on the side and base to secure the bed. The reeds will be planted in the gravel.

This is a site about the installation of a Reed Bed in a fishing lake in Albury. The goal of the project is to enhance water quality in an environmental way.
